Today in Mr Foleys lesson with we looked at and annotated the plan for our letter for LO 1.5 witch would be written to the head of our company C.S.U.A (Cant Stop Us Advertising).
When I annotated the plan I looked at things like what my role is in the company, what would go into the three main paragraphs and that we should summarise things in the parargraphs and not waffle through it.
I also looked at how to end the letter with a simple sentence and also that you should end it with yours sincerly and also to sign your name and that if you can read your signature to tell what your name is and if your cant then you have to sign and also print your name.

Media Diploma
On Tuesday with Ms Connell I started to sort out my forlder and finalising it, I printed work from LO 1.1 and also a few other stuff. I think that my folder is looking really good and full so that when the examiners look at it they can see that I have done the correct and right amount of work to support the amount of guided learning hours that i have to do for that unit.

In my two last lessons with Mr Mills we looked at websites to do with health and safety which is something that is needed to go into our foleders for Unit 1 to be comeplete, and we also looked at how to write a health and safety letter that if we we re doing yr 7 for our adverts then we would need their permission to take pictures of them and also their parents permission as they are under the age of 16, and if you were doing sixth form for your advert you would still need consent from the sixth former.

Media Diploma- Friday 10th December
Friday was our deadline for our final adverts to be made, and in Ms Connells lesson we all sat down with our work one by one in front of her and she analysed our work and say what we could improve on and how to make it better before mondays interview. After she analysed I carried on with my work barring in mind the comments that Ms Connell said.

On Thursday in our first and sencond lesson with Mr Mills we started to finish of our final design ideas to prepare for our seperate interviews with Mrs Freear. The entry point that I was making my advert for was yr 7 and i made a flyer.
In period 3 Mr Foley's lesson we carried on doing the same thing and finishing it all off.

Interview with Mrs Freear (client) LO 1.4
In my interview with Mrs Freear I showed her my drafts for my adverts for LO 1.4 in which I done it for the entry point yr 7.
I recieved both good point and also both points that I could improve my adverts on.
My good points that I recieved were that I had really good original pictures and that the layout of my adverts was really well organised.
The points from the interview in which I could improve my advert on was that the key words such as "outstanding", "highly personalised" and "well orderd" should stand out more from the text so that parents could see it more.
Overall I think that the interview went really well and that I presented myself really well and that I was proffesional and that she understood eveything that I said.

On Tuesday with Ms Connel I got out my draft adverts for LO 1.3 and also 1.4 and we stuck them down on a A3 sheet of paper (one per page) and we annotated our designs (self assessments). Afer all of that we swaped around our adverts with other people and done peer assessments on each others work.
We done this so that everyone can see what is good about their adverts and also what they could make better on them.
After all of hat we carried on with our LO 1.4 advert designs and then one by one we each got called by Ms Connell to show her our work and she asked us what kind of print advert that we are making and also told us ways in which we could make it better and then we carried on with our work.

Hi,
In todays lesson with Mr Foley we are finalising our LO 1.3 and also printing our work on the coloured printer in the media room. In this lesson I printed out my 1st draft work for LO 1.4, I am going to analyse this because i still need to make changes to it so then I will have my final designed advert for LO 1.4 to show to our client.

Hi,
In todays lesson with Mr Foley we read once over the learning objectives 1.2 and 1.3 and also went through the mark bands. After looking at this we carried on with our work for learning objective 1.2 and 1.3, we needed to have finished work for 1.2 already which I have done and we also needed to be finishing off work for learning bjective 1.2 as well which I had done after school today.
From this I have learnt that for Media Diploma you should always start your work when it is set because if you start it at the last minute it will always catch up on you and you will struggle to do work to the best of your abilities.

Today after school I finished off my brainstorms for LO 1.2 so that I have different ideas on what I would want to do for my final designs and also so that I have evidence in my folder of my planning and finalising.

After we had the talk with them we talked about how we could get research and ideas for our adverts by having focus group with year 11's and or year 7's, handing out questionnaires and different other stuff.

Mr Mills
Today in Media with Mr Mills we looked at videos from competitions that our school was entered into. The competition that we looked at was called 'Rock Challenge' which was a dancing competition and when we looked at this video I an idea that the rock challenge pictures should go on the school website and the school brochure for LO 1.2 because it is something that everyone would want to see, so that when parents looking to send their child to the school or a yr 11 student wants to go to the school they would see that the school does lots of different things with different cultures mixed together.
Putting these sort of pictures on the school website and the school brochure would make the school stand out more than it did before and would also make it look better than the schools so people would want to come here, and they would also think that it would be a great experience for them.
So when it comes to making the advertisements for the school for LO 1.2 I would know what exact pictures that I would want on the adverts to make the school stand out from all the rest of the other schools.

Today in my meeting with Mr Mills i learnt that after doing presentations I should evaluate my work on how I think that I have done on it. This is to help me keep a record of things that I do in my Media Diploma lessons, and I was also sorting out my my Media Diploma folder so that it is neat and presentable and also so that I have evidence of everything that I do so that when my work gets sent off to the examiner and they look at the Guided Learning hours that I have to do for the Media Diploma course my work backs it up.

SELF ASSESSMENT FOR 1.2 ROUGH SKETCHES OF ADVERTS (7 & 6th form)
Today in class I had to first of all design four different adverts in rough sketches 2 for year 7 entry and 2 for the sixth form entry at the convent of jesus and mary and then had to peer assess other people in the class on their rough sketches.
My advertising focus for year 7 is to persuade them to come to the Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College for their education and to make the poster more attractive.
What went well about my year 7 adverts are that it had pictures and was childly which showed asspects of a fun life at school.
The year 7 adverts would be even better if it had more information that parents would like to read.

The sixth form adverts would be even better if it had information and statistics about A-level results and B-tech results.
In the peer assessment I learned that i would need to put a bit more information on my year 7 adverts so that the parents had a brief idea about the school and go and decide if they want to go and look at the school to send their daughter their and a bit more information on stuff like results on the sixth form adverts so that it was a bit more and still give a bit of information to parents.
Out of all the adverts I would like to further develop my year 7 print adverts because I prefer to design thing that are a bit more fun and creative rather than formal and also because I know children that would be starting year 7 so it would be easier for me to know what should go on the advert.
Out of all the adverts I would not like to further develop the sixth form advert because I find it more interesting design stuff that are not just full of statistics and that is formal and I would want to be more creative.

In this lesson we started to do LO 1.2 where we analysed the different advertising techniques, we looked at newspapers, magazines, direct mail, radio, outdoor signs, television internet and other forms. when we looked at this we analysed all of them and broke them down, the reason we done this was to help us with the LO 1.2.
In the lesson with Mr Mills we looked at different schools websites and loked at how they advertised their year 7 entry and their sixth form entry and compared them to the convent saying how we could make our advertising better so that we can attract more people to the school and so that more people are looking at it.

Today in my media diploma lesson with mr mills we learend about a thing called Prezi which is another way to make presentations if you had to make one.
I think the purpose of this taks was to look at different ways of presenting, doing this made me realise that i dont always have to use microsoft powerepoint to do presentations and that there are other stuff.
Thinking about it now i think that i will use Prezi in the future to design presentations to make them look more futuristic and engaging.
I think that the most important thing that i learnt tody is that i can use different programs to design different stuff so that i dont alays have to stick to the same stuff all the time e.g. microsoft powerpoint.

Today im media with Mr Mills we set up an advertyising company and we were going to recruit 2 new employees and we got down to the final 10 candidates, and they had to show and tell us their personal skills and qualities that they could bring to our company 'Don Entertainment'.
